Abstract
The effect of spin-orbit interaction on the Stark effect for the levels of heliumlike ions was studied. To some extent, the systems considered in the paper might be called model systems. The width's behavior clearly indicated existence of interaction between singlets and triplets. The observed behavior of widths near the point where the real parts of energies cross seems to correspond quite well to that predicted by the two-level model.
