Abstract

Tables of the logarithm (base 10) of the Whittaker function Wη, l(ρ{variant}) are given for ρ{variant} = 0.1 (0.1) 3.0 (0.5) 8.0 (1.0) 18.0, η = 0.0 (0.1) 0.4 (0.2) 1.0 (0.25) 2.0 (0.5) 10.0 and l = 0 (1) 2. The tabulated values are accurate to better than 0.1%. Tables of the negative logarithmic derivative are also presented for ρ{variant} = 0.1 (0.1) 0.4 (0.2) 1.0 (0.5) 2.0 (1.0) 8.0, η = 0.0 (0.2) 1.0 (0.5) 2.0 (1.0) 10.0 and l = 0 (1) 2. The tabulated values are accurate to better than 0.5%. Over most of the table areas, linear interpolation in ρ{variant} or η and bivariate linear interpolation for ρ{variant} and η yields better than 1 % accuracy.
