Abstract

This submission was made to the Commonwealth Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) Better Energy Customer Experiences (BECE) consultation in June 2025. The purpose of the BECE consultation is “to review energy consumer protection frameworks, ensuring they are strong and fit for purpose both now and into the future”. This submission identifies and advocates for coordinated policy reforms to prioritise equitable energy outcomes for First Nations households, including nationally consistent public reporting of retail performance data.
