Abstract

The Feshbach and R-matrix theories have been applied to the reaction 12C(n, n)12C for incident energies below the inélastic threshold using a particle-rotator model with a quadrupole residual interaction to describe the positive-parity states of 13C. The results for the two reaction theories have been compared.
