Abstract
The reaction of Vaska's complex [IrCl(CO)(PPh3)2] with seleninyl chloride (SeOCl2) provided the complex [IrCl2(SeOCl)(CO)(PPh3)2], photolysis of which led to extrusion of 'SeO' and formation of [IrCl3(CO)(PPh3)2].
