Tsunami alert: the mobile phone difference
Abstract
Examination of developments in telecommunications and potential for use during emergency situations in remote locations - research compared the response to three tsunami alerts and the available communication technologies - mobile telephones in rural villages in Papua New Guinea (PNG) providing access to information during emergency situations.
