dc.description.abstractThe present government is committed to reform of the taxation system and in the latter half of 1985 made two announcements detailing some of the decisions taken in line with this commitment. The purpose of this paper is to predict the effects of the proposed tax changes on the level of investment in housing, both principal residence and rental properties.
