Abstract

This paper considers a modified gradient descent approach to the quantum equalization problem via coherent linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) control for a class of linear quantum systems defined in terms of position and momentum operators. This problem is related to a recent result in formulating a quantum equalization problem. The primary focus of this paper is to find an optimal solution for the quantum equalization problem in the sense that it improves the cost function for the coherent LQG problem. An illustrative example is included which demonstrates the algorithm.
