Abstract

Robust quantum control is concerned with the design of open loop or closed loop controllers for quantum systems subject to uncertainty. This article discusses open loop quantum control and closed loop quantum control for a range of quantum systems subject to uncertainties. For the case of robust open loop quantum control, the systems controlled are mostly finite level quantum systems described in the Schrodinger picture of quantum mechanics. For the case of robust closed loop quantum control, the systems controlled are mostly continuous variable linear quantum systems described using the Heisenberg picture of quantum mechanics. The article also discusses the issue of robustness analysis for quantum systems, which arises in the design of closed loop quantum systems.
