dc.description.abstractThe early ingrowth of bone into thick walled, porous hydroxyapatite (HAp), Al2O3 for potential as a bonding strategy was analyzed. Solid Al2I3 samples with 1 mm pore were formed by pressing Al2O3 powder in a specially designed mould. The samples were wrapped with carbon foil and loaded in stainless steel capsules. The porous structure HAp and porous Al2O3 bars shows interconnecting pores of a variety of sizes and interconnectivities.en
