Abstract

The diffusion-limited aggregation (DLA) model has been generalized to include homogeneous Eden growth surface kinetics. On-lattice simulations are compared with theory in the deterministic zero-noise limit. As the cluster grows, for a fixed value of the surface kinetics parameter Γ, there is a crossover from compact Eden growth to dendritic DLA growth. Larger Eden clusters are obtained at larger values of Γ. A theoretical analysis based on conformal mapping techniques provides a good description of this behaviour.
