Abstract

In this article we present some simple deterministic and stochastic models for bothstandard mutations and assisted cell mutations, as originally considered by Luria andDelbrück (1943), In the case of assisted cell mutations, the associated probability generatingfunction is shown to be the product of the p.g.f.s of a Poisson process and abinomial process.
