Abstract

The angular distributions observed in the 6Li(d, p 0)7Li and 6Li(d, p1) 7Li* reactions at 2.9 MeV bombarding energy are described using the spin-dependent distorted wave theory of ordinary stripping. For both reactions the neutron may be captured with total angular momentum j = 1/2 or j = 3/2. The different cross sections at large angles are explained in terms of a relatively larger j = 1/2 contribution to the ground-state transition.
