Abstract

In June this year, Charles Darwin University's School for Social & Policy Research co-hosted a major international conference on population issues for the 21st Century in Alice Springs. Key themes of the 14th Biennial Australian Population Association conference included Indigenous demography, policy responses to demographic change, and the demography of Australia's northern neighbours. In this seminar presentation, Andrew Taylor synthesises the major issues and challenges for Demography in the 21st century through his interpretation of presentations by keynote and other speakers at the conference.
