dc.description.abstract	The purpose of this thesis is to test different theories cf unemployment and to shed light on factors that may have contributed to the rise in the unemployment over the pass three decades in 22 OECD countries. The thesis also attempts to explain why unemployment experiences have been so different across OECD countries.
