dc.description.abstractWik-Munkanisan Australian Aboriginal language spoken in north-west Queensland, on the western side of the Great Dividing Range on Cape York Peninsula. This description is primarily concerned with the means available to a Wik-Munkan speaker to present and develop the themes of a discourse.The description is loosely based on generative semantics, but shows some influence of tagmemic theory as well; for instance, there is an acceptance of the existence of hierarchical levels in surface grammar.en_AU
