Abstract

Gerry Walsh enrolled in the Geography Department of the Research School of Pacific Studies in 1961 to do a PhD. Prior to coming to the ANU he studied at the University of Sydney where he completed a Bachelor of Arts in 1956, a Diploma of Education in 1957 and a Master of Arts in 1960. Later he was appointed to the History Department of the Australian Defence Force Academy and has been a prolific contributor to the Australian Dictionary of Biography.
