dc.description.abstractThe effectiveness of revegetation in controlling runoff rates and suspended sediment load is evaluated for a semi-arid catchment. Two similar catchments, one revegetated, the other partially denuded, were monitored for the 1979-80 wet season. Runoff rates were evaluated in terms of the runoff coefficient and lag time of the catchments. Vegetation cover, type, distribution and infiltration rates were examined for each catchment, then applied in explaining differences in runoff rates and suspended sediment load.en_AU
