| dc.description.abstract | Since their inception, the rural finance institutions have been unable to meet the expectations of planners and beneficiaries, and concerns have been raised about a lack of credit facilities for the rural sector. In spite of three decades of experience in rural financing, Papua New Guinea has not been able to establish a viable rural financial institution.
