Industrial relations theory and practice : the building of the new parliament house
Abstract
This study looks at the theory of industrial relations as it
applies to the building and construction industry in
Australia . It does so by looking at both the macro and micro
levels . For the latter the building of Australia' s New
Parliament House was chosen as the basic case study . The
study does not deal with the complete project -for at the time
of writing there were a -further two years of work; to go before
completion . It does however deal with the crucial years up to
the end of 1995 which saw the labour -force grow -from a few
workers to 1,500 .
