Abstract

This summary of the arguments in this study suggests that erchandise export fluctuations did not present much serious problems as are commonly assumed to the fiscal and monetary stability of Malaysia and Thailand, despite the heavy concentration of trade and the trade dependent nature of the two countries, particularly in the 1950's.
