In this study i am concerned with examining the phenomenon of intra-industry trade with respect to the trade of Asia. More precisely, I examine the size of, and relevance of, intra-industry trade in manufacturing goods for a number of developing countries of Asia. For the purposes of this introduction intra-industry trade may be defined as trade in products which are produced within the same industry: the trade for example of tubes of steel for steel plates or large motor cars for smaller motor cars.en_AU
