Abstract

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people should be aware that this video recording contains images, voices and names of people who are deceased. -- Location material recorded between 1978 and 1986 at Yuendumu, Northern Territory. -- Using the Warlpiri women as a case study, shows the use and structure of sign language as a means of manual communication at certain times, such as when there are taboos on speaking.
