| dc.description.abstract | The Australian Agricultural Company, familiar to Australian historians, is more generally associated with a fiasco on its original grant of one million acres on the shores of Port Stephens than with the successful operation of a sheep station on the Liverpool Plains. This thesis is primarily concerned with the establishment of the sheep station, but a preliminary investigation was made of the period preceding the interesting developments on the Liverpool Plains.
