Abstract

This thesis is concerned primarily with long-term loans secured overseas by the Commonwealth, as agent for the Australian Loan Council, between June 1950 and June 19620 These years saw the Commonwealth recommence new money borrowing overseas - a policy which continued until after the end of the period.
