Abstract

The lattice parameter changes which accompany substitutional solid solution in crystals have been studied extensively in the cases of many alloy and mineral systems, and on the basis of the proportionality between the solute concentration and these lattice parameter changes highly refined analytical techniques have been developed to measure the limits of solid solubility in such systems.
