Abstract

This case-study examined causes of non-response in a longitudinal survey. Preliminary analysis was undertaken using contingency tables and analysis of variance. A set of explanatory variables was determined by a step-wise forward regression on a probit model. This set consisted of variables measuring household income, length of residence in a suburb, and availability of social integration and adequacy of attachment in social relationships. Categories of non-response were also examined.
