Description
Photographs probably taken before the Siege of Peking (June-August 1900). They occur in the album following shots dated "Easter 1900". The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation's Beijing office burned down c. April 1900 (".... some two months before the [Boxer] Uprising." Frank H. H. King (1987-), vol. II p. 316.)
