Pyrometamorphism is the highest temperature end-member of the sanidinite facies (hightemperature, low-pressure contact metamorphism) and comprises both subsolidus and partial melting reactions which may locally lead to cryptocrystalline-glassy rocks (i.e., porcellanites and buchites).
