Abstract

Taken from windmill at 3 mile tank, 1926 or '28. Sheep to be fed on corn / maize spread on ground. Truck in background fitted with hopper for spreading corn. On some occasions, when all natural grasses had disappeared, sheep were confined to small paddocks of 5 to 10 acres in mobs of 2,000 to 3,000 and fed there. In 1927/28, 26,000 lambs were fed in this manner.
