Abstract
A number of people involved in Aboriginal affairs are attempting
to help create the conditions under which Aborigines can be
self-determining. A popular strategy is to gather information
about the conditions faced by Aborigines in order to encourage
others - the government, other Australians or sectional interest
groups - to act. Some of the consequences of the effective use
of this strategy are considered.
