Description: | This study analyses the state of the Singapore defence industry. It traces the origins and evolution of the industry, examines the various motivating factors and analyses the impact of the industry on the country and beyond. From the study, it is clear that Singapore has one of the most developed defence industries in Southeast Asia and this has been achieved within a relatively short span of time. The monograph analyses the factors for this achievement, examines the decision-making process as far as the defence industry is concerned and examines problems that have been faces and might be faces by the defence industry in Singapore. Finally, the future directions of the defence industry are analysed. |
