Abstract

Description

A native of Ting-yuan (Dingyuan) in Shansi, and the counsellor of Chu Yuan-chang (Zhu Yuanzhang) in his struggle for the empire, and subsequently became his first minister. In 1369 he was chief editor of the Yuan shih (Yuan shi). He was executed under a charge of conspiracy in 1380, which was later shown to be baseless. Canonised as Hsiang Min (Xiang Min).
