Platinum-group elements geochemistry of felsic rocks

Park, Jung-Woo

Description

The mechanisms by which the platinum group elements (PGE) concentrate and fractionate during magmatic processes, especially in felsic magmatic systems, is poorly understood. The felsic igneous rocks are often linked to hydrothermal Cu-Au mineralization and the presence or absence of sulfide saturation during fractionation is critical to the ore forming processes. PGE can be a sensitive indicator for sulfide saturation due to their high compatibility with sulfide melts. This research...[Show more]
