Abstract

View of the 1894 Barrack Street Bridge as it crosses the railway line. To either side of the main bridge are footbridges guarded by iron lace railings and picket fences. A small child can be seen on the far left. Visible on the right is the Town Hall which was designed by Richard Roach Jewell and completed in 1870. It was built in the style of a Tudor market hall with a clock tower and spires and for many years town markets were held there.
