Abstract

The estimates of internal migration have been obtained in this study by the two basic methods of census survival and lifetime migration. The former utilized the age data and the latter birthplace data. The data on religions and Displaced Persons/Muhajirs were also analysed to provide complementary information on internal migration. We will attempt below an evaluation of the two basic methods of census survival and lifetime migration and a comparison of the net migration estimates obtained by them.
