Cultural advice

The Australian National University acknowledges, celebrates and pays our respects to the Ngunnawal and Ngambri people of the Canberra region and to all First Nations Australians on whose traditional lands we meet and work, and whose cultures are among the oldest continuing cultures in human history.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are advised that ANU Library collections may include images, names, voices, and other representations of deceased persons.

Abstract

Study No.1, "Regulation review and public broadcasting". This report considers public interest considerations arising from market failure in broadcasting. Ongoing market failure problems in this area persist despite the impetus for a more liberal broadcasting market emerging from new technology. Study No.2, "National public broadcasting benefit". This study reviews salient data on the public benefit from ABC public broadcasting. It concludes that the ABC is, in fact, a quite efficient broadcaster by both domestic commercial and global public standards.
