Abstract

Description

A native of Feng-yang in Anhui and chief supporter of Chu Yuan-chang (Zhu Yuanzhang) in his overthrow of the Mongol dynasty. His almost unbroken series of successes culminated in the capture of Peking in 1368. he was a plain, simple man, and never presumed on his great services. He was ennobled Duke, receiving his patent engraved upon an iron slab, and posthumously as Prince. Canonised as Wu Ning and admitted to the Imperial Temple.
