Abstract

Description

The sacrificial wine is heated in this vessel. It is unusual for vessels of the Shang period to have a spout as is the case with this one. The vessel is small, barely the size of a wine glass as we know it. On the side away from the viewer is fixed a handle which is only of use as long as the vessel is cold. -- 17.7 x 15.8 cm.
