Abstract

Description

This dome belongs to the same type as that of the Kailasanatha
it is octagonal and has, on each of the four corners of the platform on which the dome rests, a carved Nandin. The sanctuary has three receding storeys, decorated with miniature models of buildings and supported by Dravidian-type pilasters. The base of each side of the dome is decorated with a kudu. The roof of each storey has friezes carved with animals. The finial of the dome has disappeared.
