dc.descriptionA descendant of Liu Pang (Liu Bang), founder of the Han dynasty, he led a chequered career in the public service, being twice cast into prison, but on each occasion being reinstated. He is chiefly known for his literary works. He revised and rearranged the Chan Kuo ts'e (Zhanguoce), he wrote the Ku Lieh nu chuan (Gu lienu chuan), Biographies of Famous Women.
