dc.descriptionTitle imposed. Caption on the rear of the photograph: "Same pygmy as in 146. This shows head-dress - note long with feather sticking out the back. 5 Aug 1937 4.30 pm bright". Captions reflect the attitudes of the author at the time they were written, and do not reflect the values of the archives. Stinear occasionally notes weather conditions and brightness when taking photographs. These photographs were taken during Stinear's time in Papua New Guinea from 1936-1937, in the Sepik, Ramu, and Gulf regions.
