Abstract
Description
Photographer's note: Recrossing this rapidly rising river was exhausting and more than a little frightening. The strong current, combined with a bed of large slippery boulders necessitated six of us holding each other around the shoulders, rugby scrum-style, only in a circle, so that there was some secure footing. The smallest member of the group swirled around within the circle. Drownings are relatively common in the area. This photograph was taken on the South branch of Burnett (Dio/ Djalo) River (universal grid reference: 54M XU 443650).
