This Buddhist cave, which resembles a hall, is one of the largest of the group. It measures 115 feet in depth, 60 feet in width and contains thirty-four pillars which are divided into two rows which delimit the aisles on to which some twenty cells open. The centre of this gigantic hall is divided by two long parallel banks
dc.descriptionit is impossible to say what purpose they served, but they may have been refectory or study tables. At the far end of the cave is a niche in which the Buddha is represented in the attitude of teaching, a familiar pose in Mahayana buddhism.
