At this stage of Indian history, animal figures are yet to gain strong religious significance, As they appear here, as children's toys, they are as simple yet naturalistic as the little cult figures minus the latter's magical symbolism, From such animal toys, we have the first representations of the types of animals which populated the Indus Valley in ancient times and among these some of the first representations of elephants, Shown here are figures of the elephant, rhinoceros, canine and feline creatures habitating the Valley territory,
