Abstract
Description
Much of the Buddha's ministry was in the civinity of Rajgir, located some sixty miles from modern Patna. From earliest times, Buddhist monks have lined [sic] in the caves on the hills above the village of Rajgir, making this a most sacred spot. According to an ancient tradition, the Buddha delivered here the Saddharma Pundarika, and because of its importance in Japanese Buddhism there is today a Japanese Buddhist monastery nearby.
