| dc.description | The painting is Mughal in setting and in the skilful modelling of facial contours, but in other ways the indigenous tradition has prevailed. The faces are generalized, types rather than portraits of individuals, and the leaf-shaped eyes are extravagantly elongated. The colours are vivid, and the atmosphere is heavy with sensuality. | |
