dc.description.abstract	Produced by the Waterside Workers Film Unit (Sydney Branch), the film depicts the 1953 Waterside Workers campaign to win pensions for veteran waterside workers. The film shows the hardship of both life on the docks, and even greater hardship in retirement as workers are discarded without a pension, plunging them into poverty, illness and insecure shelter. -- ACTU Institute website.
