Abstract

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people should be aware that this video recording contains images, voices and names of people who are deceased. -- Based on an interview with Jean Jans, a registered nurse, who has worked for many years in drug and alcohol addiction prevention in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. -- This video was produced as part of a community-based crime prevention training package for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Funding for the post production and editing of the video was generously provided by the Law Foundation of New South Wales. The federal Department of Aboriginal Affairs also kindly gave permission for the use of some stock footage from their program Aboriginal Australia. -- Recorded 28 August 1989.
