Description

Completing the standard equipment of each house was the cistern or well lined with baked bricks to provide fresh water for the inhabitants, These wels were fed and drained by a system of clay pipes much like those which carry the final waste water from the house to the center canal in the street, One is rightly amazed by the precision with which these wells are incorporated into the house plans as a whole, Along with the standard fixture of the bathrooms, one imagines that cleanliness was very much a way of life for the Indus people,
